College of Biomedical Engineering, Rangsit University has been elevated from the Biomedical Engineering Program that has been running since the academic year 2002 to the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering on August 1, 2016. Over the past 15 years, we have produced 350 graduates in the field of Biomedical Engineering, including 325 Thai nationals, and 25 personnel from the Ministry of Public Health of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The graduates have gone out to fulfill the development of the health industry and have been part of raising the standard of health care of the Thai people so that they are now up to international standards. As well as helping to drive Thailand's Asian medical hub strategy.
From the academic year 2016 onwards, the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering has the vision to develop in all aspects to step into. "The faculty of innovation and spiritual entrepreneurship in Biomedical Engineering for the Society of ASEAN" in response to the 4.0 Thailand Strategies. In this regard, there is a strategy to drive the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering to three goals.
Strategy 1 Develop a consistent education system with real entrepreneurs.
The strategy includes: All educational systems must be flexible, meet the lifelong learning, and the content and management of education must be consistent with the real entrepreneur and cultivated concepts of attitudes in terms of skills or entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, this strategy will focus on the production of a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, with the virtue and ethics of being an independent entrepreneur. This is consistent with the dimensions of the modern world economy that will be driven by entrepreneurs as has already happened in China, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan, etc.
Strategy 2 is the Faculty of Research and Innovation in Biomedical Engineering of ASEAN.
This strategy is driven by the development of five existing research laboratories, including the Medical Device Research Laboratory, the Clinical Research Laboratory, the Signal &Image Processing Laboratory, Medical Robotics Research Laboratory, Medical Information Management System and Biophysics & Biomaterials Laboratory to leap forward to bring the research to develop into innovation and start-up, as well as to become a center for academic services in the field of clinical and biomedical instrumentation of the country and link to the international network.
Strategy 3: Develop a management system to serve as an outcome faculty.
Such strategies are the critical and strategic support to the Strategy 1 and Strategy 2 can be implemented flexibly, and drive efficiency and effectiveness. The emphasis is on the formation of the society as a society of good people, good people, happy people, warm and make people feel bound and together create value added work. Making society and the atmosphere of biomedical engineering to be "faculty of innovation and entrepreneurship".The development of an E-Faculty management system, as well as the changing atmosphere of the faculty from academic faculty to be outcome faculty.
By all three strategies, the aim is to produce the following main outputs:
1. Produce qualified graduates as international biomedical engineers who can work around the world and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
2. Produce research to create innovations in biomedical engineering that are beneficial to society.
3. It is the center of academic, clinical, and biomedical instrumentation in the country and is linked to the international network.
4. Faculty of Biomedical Engineering Rangsit University will be a society with an atmosphere of "faculty of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit" and
5. Society of Students and Staff of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering is a society of good people, happy people, warmth, and people feel bound and together create value added work.
Finally, I would like to tell students, parents, or stakeholders about the current production of graduates that, "higher education to get a degree can be learned anywhere. But here it focuses on learning to build on the skills of global biomedical engineers and spirituality and entrepreneurial skills, along with the ethics of being ready to enter the stage of a critically acclaimed manufacturing industry and to enter the international arena, there are also plenty of gaps, with the aim of enabling our graduates to transform the local community in need of help and progress with the country.
The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering Rangsit University has cooperated with both educational institutions as well as relevant public and private organizations, both nationally and internationally, to bring the strategy to the stage in the near future.
